DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations 4 to 8 inches. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph over high and exposed terrain. * WHERE...The Warner Mountains of Modoc County. This also includes Cedar Pass on state highway 299 at 6323 ft. * WHEN...From 5 PM Wednesday to 11 AM PDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Travel may be difficult and delays in your commute. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong winds will ease Wednesday night.

Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km)
and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of
small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as
"cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.
Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the
water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a
cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud
formations generally pass rapidly.
