DESCRIPTION: SVRSLC The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Southeastern Tooele County in northern Utah... * Until 945 PM MDT. * At 908 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 15 miles east of Dugway Proving Ground Test Range, or 17 miles southwest of Dugway English Village, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Dugway English Village, Skull Valley, and Dugway Proving Ground Test Range.
INSTRUCTION: For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Large hail and damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

A contrail is an artificial cloud, created by the passing of an
aircraft.
Contrails form because water vapor in the exhaust of aircraft engines is suspended
in the air under certain temperatures and humidity conditions. These contrails
are called exhaust contrails.
Another type of contrail can form due to a temporary reduction in air pressure
moving over the plane's surface, causing condensation.
These are called aerodynamic contrails.
When you can see your breath on a cold day, it is also because of condensation.
The reason contrails last longer than the condensation from your breath is
because the water in contrails freezes into ice particles.
